Dread's sacrifice effect is not Entomb. If it dies before your turn ends – f.e. if it gets blocked – or during your opponent's turn, you won't draw another unit from your void.
Defiance was a set focused on five three-faction alliances: 
Jennev, 
Ixtun, 
Winchest, Kerendon, and Auralian. Faction pairs that appear in more than one of them received a lot of support, including a cycle of rare units with Pledge that cost double influence for each faction of the pair. Dread is a part of this cycle consisting of: Eaton, Seditious Noble, Chunk Chunk, Colossal Pteriax, Dread, and Howling Kurtarr.
