Defiance was a set focused on five three-faction alliances: 
Jennev, 
Ixtun, 
Winchest, Kerendon, and Auralian. Faction pairs that appear in more than one of them received a lot of support, including a cycle of common cards: Bear Arms, Mighty Strikes, Honeypot, Lethrai Courtier, and Lost Scroll.
