How to Get

Packs of Unleashed are available for purchase from the in-game store, and individual cards may be crafted with Shiftstone.

Unleashed packs are also used in Draft and Leagues, and Unleashed cards have been incorporated into the Forge mode.

Mechanics & Themes

Unleashed is the first Eternal set to feature 'reprints' — cards from previous sets can now be found in booster packs of newer sets in one uncommon and two common slots. The reprints have a chance of being higher rarity allowing for two rare or legendary cards to appear in a single booster. The reprinted cards are mostly the ones that synergize with new mechanics. This change also means that there will be no more Eternal Draft packs.

After the clashes between Myrians and Xultans, Eilyn together with Pelak, Xultan Elder conclude a historic agreement about the fate of Lastlight refugees in Argenport and organises the Day of the Triumvirate to commemorate the cooperation. But some Xultans vehemently disagree with the terms and leave the city. The Cabal convinces Tavrod, Bankroller to open a not-so-legal casino and starts Mass Production of Miviox, an inhibition removing drug. Eilyn commands Chief Investigator West to catch Raniya. Meanwhile Kaleb gathers a party of adventurers in search of The True-Sight Map. Vara, Death's Master encounters young Alicia and teaches her how to use Shadow magic.

New Mechanics

FrenzyFrenzy:
Does something when you or a non-attacking unit hits the enemy player.

A card with Frenzy does something when you or a non-attacking unit hits the enemy player. It can trigger multiple times in a turn, but it does not trigger when an attacking unit deals damage to the enemy via an ability, or from NightfallNight:
When you start a turn at Night, draw an additional card and take 1 damage.

Nightfall:
The first Nightfall card played in a turn makes it Night and extends it by a turn for each player.'s damage.

TauntTaunt:
This unit must be blocked if possible.

A unit with Taunt must be blocked. It is a Battle Skill. If a unit has Taunt and an evasive battle skill like FlyingFlying:
Can only be blocked by other units with flying., the enemy player must block it if they can, but if they can’t Taunt doesn’t apply.

UnleashUnleash:
When you play this card, create and draw a copy of it. Discard it at the end of the turn. The copy's cost can’t be reduced.

The titular mechanic of the set, Unleash lets you copy your cards an unlimited number of times. When you play a card with Unleash, you’ll keep drawing copies of it that you can play before it’s discarded at the end of the turn. The copy's cost can't be reduced.

Returning Mechanics

• InscribeInscribe:
  This card can be played as a depleted Sigil.
• InvokeInvoke:
  Choose between a random spell, unit, and attachment of this card's factions to create and draw. - only found on Pelak, Xultan Elder and Shavkan, Flame Reborn as of the release

Themes

For each faction there's a unit card that references an The Empty Throne card with the artwork and the effect. The art shows the unit under the effect of Miviox.

Spoiler Season

An announcement article for Unleashed was released on April 20, 2022.

Community Spoilers

Beginning April 28, 2022, DWD sold community spoilers in the community store for 35,000 influence each. Spoilers were available in limited batches, with 2 additional batches released in the following week, and sold first come, first served.

DWD would email the spoilers to their purchasers, which could then be shared with the game's community in any reasonable manner.

Draft Preview

On May 4, 36 commons and uncommons from the set were incorporated into Draft Packs in a special Draft Preview. These cards were immediately playable in constructed formats, though the cards could only obtained during the preview through draft.

Preview Event

The Auric Deal 'Em - Unleashed preview event ran from May 6-11, with a special gameplay rule giving bonuses based on evaluating each player's starting hand as a poker hand.
