Defiance was a set focused on five three-faction alliances: 
Jennev, 
Ixtun, 
Winchest, Kerendon, and Auralian. Faction pairs that appear only in one of those alliances received little support, but they got a cycle of legendary units with Pledge that cost double influence for each faction of the pair. Zende, the Heart-Binder is a part of this cycle consisting of: Darya, Warrior Poet, Syl, Hand of the Cabal, Serene Meditant, Aniyah, Arctic Sheriff, and Zende, the Heart-Binder.
